I’m hoping that having a nation-wide day of performance will magnify the individual efforts and will remind us that we are the majority. Part of the reason for having something so fluid is that this isn’t a normal situation. There’s something unique about performance, broadly defined, in its ability to resist normalization. Performance can be a loud and bratty art form, and we need something that resists normalization and commodification. – Holly Hughes
